I am an artist based in Birmingham, UK. This still feels surreal! I didn’t start in the art world. I have been a teacher for most of my career and completed an MA in Character Education in 2023. I knew I wanted a change. Whilst I still work in the education sector, I took the plunge into the world of event illustration, which feels quite far from the classroom. I loved my teaching career in so many ways, yet art, for those who know me well, has always been at the heart of everything I do. When playing around with names for my ‘artist persona,’ the idea of ‘arty at heart illustrations’ just captured what art has meant to me over the years. So, I now paint at live events and create prints, digital art, and commissions for people, pets, and anything that inspires me.
